Ganesha Chaturthi Mantras – Part 3

Ganesha Chaturthi is celebrated on the fourth day after the new moon in the waxing portion of the lunar fortnight of Bhaadrapada (usually in late August or early September).

One way to celebrate the festival is to meditate upon the 108 names of Lord Ganesha. Each of the 108 names evokes a specific quality, power or blessing that Ganesha showers upon us. Each recitation of the 108 names can begin with the seed mantra which is formulated around the word gam – the bijakshara for Ganesha. 

Aum gam ganpataye Namah 

 

The third set of twelve (of the 108) names of Ganesha are given below:

Aum Sanaatanaaya Namah ॐ सनातनाय नमः 

Salutations to the One who is continual

Aum Saamgaaya Namah ॐ सामगाय नमः 

Salutations to the embodiment of harmony

Aum Priyaaya Namah ॐ प्रियाय नमः

Salutations to the One who is love itself

Aum Sattvaadhaaraaya Namah ॐ सत्त्वाधाराय नमः

Salutations to the supporter of the quintessential within all beings 

Aum Suraadheeshaaya Namah ॐ सुराधीशाय नमः

Salutations to the one who is revered by the Gods

Aum Samastasaakshiney Namah ॐ समस्तसाक्षिने नमः

Salutations to the one who witnesses all

Aum Nirdvandvaaya Namah ॐ निर्द्वन्द्वाय नमः

Salutations to the one without conflict

Aum Nirlokaaya Namah ॐ निर्लोकाय नमः

Salutations to the one who does not belong to only one realm

Aum Amoghavikramaaya Namah ॐ अमोघविक्रमाय नमः

Salutations to the invincible one

Aum Punyaaya Namah ॐ पुण्याय नमः

Salutations to the virtuous one

Aum Nirmalaaya Namah ॐ निर्मलाय नमः

Salutations to the chaste one

Aum Kaamdaaya Namah ॐ कामदाय नमः ३६

Salutations to the one who fulfills all desires
